Ganoderma lucidum
Reishi mushroom supports healthy endocrine functions in the body, which regulate hormones like melatonin and cortisol. Reishi is known as a nervine, a type of herb that supports nervous system, promoting relaxation and preparing the body for restful sleep.
Humulus lupulus
Humulus lupulus (Hop) has different properties: calming, sleep inducing, gastric secretion stimulating, and spasmolytic. Increasing GABAergic activity seems to be the main mechanism of action, thus inhibiting the central nervous system. Moreover, hop has demonstrated binding affinities to some of the melatonin (ML1 and ML2) and serotonin (5-HT4e, 5-HT6 and 5-HT7) receptor subtypes that are involved in circadian rhythm and sleep regulation.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 benefits the body by converting the amino acid tryptophan into serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps regulate levels of the sleep hormone melatonin.
Melatonin
Melatonin is a hormone that’s naturally made by the pineal gland. It helps you fall asleep by calming the body before bed. Melatonin works together with your body’s circadian rhythm. In simple terms, the circadian rhythm is your body’s internal clock. Melatonin also helps regulate your body temperature, your blood pressure, and the levels of some hormones. Melatonin levels start to rise in your body when it’s dark outside, signaling to your body that it’s time to sleep.
CBD (Cannabidiol) isolate
Cannabinoids interact with your endocannabinoid system, which helps your body maintain a state of balance and stability, or homeostasis. Scientific studies published in 2019 looked at whether CBD could improve sleep and or reduce anxiety. Other research tells us that CBD affects the sleep cycle. It found also that CBD improved the symptoms of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD), a disorder in which a person acts out their dreams. RBD is associated with poor sleep and nightmares.
